Millbrook Trail Partnership
The Swanson Inn and the Mad Path Association joined efforts to ensure public access to the Millbrook Trail from VT Rte. 17. On Wednesday, January 26, Rick and Tim finalized a permanent easement to the Millbrook Trail trailhead with the Mad River Path Association, executed by the law offices of Willem Jewett. Ross Saxion, the executive director of the Mad River Path, approached Rick and Tim in 2020 and since that time have worked hard to make this dream a reality. Uninhibited access to the woods, open space, and beauty of the natural world is essential and we are happy to support the work and mission of the Mad Path trail system. Bring your snowshoes in the winter and hiking shoes in the summer and enjoy the beauty of the Mad River Valley.

Travel Journal Workshop
Art & Soul Moments:
Create your Travel Companion Journal
Deadline for signup: Monday, August 23, 2021
Not only does travel offer you the opportunity to experience culture and adventure, but also the opportunity to invest in yourself. A travel journal is a wonderful way to create a tangible memory of any journey you embark on.
In this workshop, participants will create a journal with a double-needle Coptic binding, an intricate stitch that will be visible on the spine of the book. Not only is the Coptic binding beautiful, but it also allows books to remain flat when opened.
Campfire Thursdays
The campfire burns very Thursday evening during June, July, and August when all guests are welcome to enjoy the ambiance of summer with special dessert starting at 7:00p. Each week, Tim will prepare the perfect sweet treat to end your day and beer and wine and dessert wines are available for purchase. There is no better way to enjoy your summer visit to the Swanson Inn than sitting by the crackling fire, watching the moon rise, be dazzled by the lighting bugs and dragon flies as they fill the yard, and if you are lucky, you might see the Milky Way stretch across the Vermont evening sky.
