Rokeby Museum is open and a great place to visit this summer. Open daily, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The museum’s special 2020 exhibit MENDING FENCES: NEW WORK BY CAROL MACDONALD includes prints and objects in the gallery, and outdoor installations – all inspired by Rokeby Museum – that explore simple and profound acts of repair. (For an exhibit review, search Seven Days Art Review Mending Fences.)
For a deeper understanding of race issues in America today, the museum’s award winning, multi-media exhibit FREE & SAFE: THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD IN VERMONT is a great exploration of the history of slavery and the work done by many to abolish it.
Rokeby also offers walking trails, historic farm buildings including an early 20th century creamery, virtual tours of the historic Robinson family home, and extra care to make your visit clean and safe. Open daily, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
